A Laid Back Environment for Folx to Geek Out About Type: All Levels of Typography Experience Are Welcome
This Spooktober we’re celebrating with costumes and typography! Join us for a lively evening with our fontastic design community. Be a part of our TypeCrit: you get to queue up to offer your feedback to our type-presenters, or sit back relax and enjoy the discussions. Bring your booze (or mocktails), your snacks, or your fav cannabis product, and let’s have some fun at TypeThursdayLA!
All Are Welcome
We welcome all type-design projects. Our Los Angeles design community has showcased diverse work, and we’ve seen everything from packaging design, UI design, to typeface design.
Mentorship at TypeThursdayLA
Our TypeThursday fam nurtures the Los Angeles design community to grow and reach beyond their own limitations through audience participation in our TypeCrit format. The best part is networking before and after the event, whether linking up with new friends IRL, on LinkedIn, IG, Twitter, or FB. We encourage you to come and meet new friends.

SHARE YOUR WORK
To present a project, submit your files to TypeThursdayLA through our Submission Form. If accepted, you’ll get the chance to present your work and creative process and get live feedback from our community to help improve your typography skills. Please do not show any work that is covered under contracts or NDAs, as your presentation will be photographed and/or recorded and shown to the public.

FAQs
Am I required to show work?
No, but you’re welcome to come and learn. We do encourage participating in the critiques and asking questions that would benefit the presenters and the community.
I want to present work! What can I present at the event?
Bring your work-in-progress that is typographic in nature or utilizes type in some fashion. Anything where graphic designers can help you. Some examples:
- UI/UX: An App or Site that utilizes typographic elements
- Lettering: Sketches and directions for a lettering assignment
- Typeface: Proofs showcasing large renders of the letters, spacing proofs, etc.
- Layout: Multi-page compositions that handle large areas of type
