Join us for a lively evening with our fontastic community. We encourage audience participation through our TypeCrit format. Offer your feedback on the presenters work in progress type project. Your opinions, feedback, and voice matter! And make the experience more fun and enjoyable for everyone.
Presenters (from all levels of typography experience) share their work in progress designs that use type in any way. You’ll see process sketches, design explorations, and get excited for design again through being inspired by what local designers are working on.

We welcome all type design projects; our Los Angeles design community has presented and received feedback on everything from packaging design, to user interface (UI) design to typeface design.
Get Mentored
Our TypeThursday community nurtures the Los Angeles design community to grow and reach beyond their own limitations through audience participation in the TypeCrit format.
Share Your Work
To present a project, submit your files to TypeThursdayLA through our Submission Form. If accepted, you’ll get the chance to present your work and creative process and get live feedback from our community to help improve your typography skills. Please do not show any work that is covered under contracts or NDAs, as your presentation will be photographed and/or recorded and shown to the public.

FAQs
Am I required to show work?
No, but you’re welcome to come and learn. We do encourage participating in the critiques and asking questions that would benefit the presenters and the community.
I want to present work! What can I present at the event?
Bring your work-in-progress projects that are typographic in nature or utilize type in some fashion. Anything where graphic designers can help you. Some examples:
- UI/UX: An App or Site that utilizes typographic elements
- Lettering: Sketches and directions for a lettering assignment
- Typeface: Proofs showcasing large renders of the letters, spacing proofs, etc.
- Layout: Multi-page compositions that handle large areas of type
