In The Loop and Type Therapy with TypeEd

Workshop 1: In The Loop

You’ve spent your whole life working on your penmanship, but lately, you’d rather text. After In The Loop, you’ll find yourself powerless to resist handwriting beautiful sentences and delivering them in-person. Now you’ve got it.

Guest instructor Leah Faust will begin with an introduction into script history and examples of usage around Los Angeles, then jump into sketching exercises and an exploration of expressing emotions, ideas and styles. Students will learn the process on how to translate scripts to digital format, and understand what it takes to mimic natural lines with point-to-point vector. At the end we’ll pin all the printouts onto the crit wall and have a group discussion.

Date: Saturday, July 6, 2013 | Time: 2PM-8PM | VenueTypeEd Los Angeles, California 90013 Tickets:  $125.00 Design Professionals | $100 AIGA/LA Member or Student with ID

Workshop 2: Type Therapy

A little mental health puts you in the right place. But they didn’t tell you how much it would boost your confidence. Still. Sharing and caring continue the healing. Think of it as Typographers Anonymous.

Bring your files and work and share your innermost design desires and frustration with the group. Instead of a criticism, you’ll get positive interpretation and constructive counseling. This three-hour workshop is perfect for designers who need assistance in improving their typography on a specific current client or school design project.

Date: Friday, July 19, 2013 | Time: 6:30PM-9:30PM | VenueTypeEd Los Angeles, California 90013 Tickets:  $50.00 Design Professionals
