This is a two-part hybrid workshop. Workshop breakdown is provided below.

Are you interested in going into freelance, transitioning into a new creative field, or taking your career to the next level? Join us for our two-part workshop that will help you confidently rebrand yourself for the next step in your career.

The first part of this workshop will be held virtually and will help inspire and define the future direction of your career. Skilled professionals from creative staffing and design fields will review your resume and give you tips and strategies on how to reposition yourself to attract the right audience.

During the second part of this workshop, skilled professionals will review your portfolios in-person to help you gain valuable perspective on how to highlight your work efficiently and to help tailor your portfolio to your next opportunity. You will also have an optional opportunity to have a new professional headshot taken that can be used for multiple purposes.

For those looking for advice, direction, and encouragement for achieving your new career goals, this is the event for you. Hold yourself accountable within this intimate group of cohorts and reposition yourself for where you want to be.


ABOUT THE WORKSHOP STRUCTURE

DAY 1 (Virtual Event)

Resume Review/Strategy Session with Jacqueline Meyer

Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Present your resume and receive advice and a strategy on how to reposition yourself.

DAY 2 (In-person Event)

Portfolio Review/Strategy + Photoshoot Session* with Sophiea Kim

Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
You will be asked to present your portfolio in 10 minutes as if you were at a real job interview. After your presentation, our reviewers will give you constructive feedback and guidance on how to refresh your portfolio accordingly.

Photoshoot Session (on June 4): $30
*Have a new professional headshot taken at this event. Our Photoshoot Session is only available for registered attendees as an add-on option and can be purchased on the day of the event on June 4th for $30 via Credit Card. Cash will be accepted if the exact amount of $30 is provided. Please be sure to bring your payment option with you. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the event start time if you are participating in the Photoshoot Session.

DAY 1 on June 2nd will be a virtual event using Zoom. Once you are registered, an email will be sent two hours before the event start time with instructions on how to join the online event. Accommodations for captioning and/or sign language interpreter can be provided. Please let us know at time of registration by emailing us at: programming[at]aigala.org. Zoom also offers accessibility features which can be found on their website.

Health is our top priority. For the wellbeing of our participants and volunteers, all attendees must wear a mask at all times (unless eating or drinking) during the event. Jacqueline Meyer
Jacqueline stepped into the new world of recruiting and staffing with Yellow Bob in 2021, with an eagerness to learn and fine-tune her craft. Jacqueline has worked with many companies around Los Angeles, including The Honest Company, Sugarfina, MPC, and Lula’s Garden, with a main focus on Customer Service and Sales. Her uplifting, positive communication with clients is unmatched, and will work hard to provide the best experience for anyone she encounters. No mountain is too high, and Jacqueline loves to take on any new task with eagerness and positivity.

In her spare time, Jacqueline is a LA foodie, who always is trying the latest and greatest new restaurants and bars around LA. Her favorites include MillCross for that perfect almond milk latte, and Etta, for that perfect spicy pizza. Jacqueline will never say no to a heated game of Catan, always is on the search for the most unique vintage pieces, and always planning her next vacation.

Sophiea Kim
Sophiea Kim is a creative director and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles with passions for creativity, education, and commercial real estate investment. She has founded InnerChild Creatives as a community platform for young professionals who believe in the importance of finding purpose, making time for one’s craft, and cultivating a supportive community to grow together with. Today, InnerChild Creatives has further transformed to a creative collective offering services in cinematography, art direction and production, with a strong mission to volunteer time guiding young adults who desire to connect with their inner child through creativity.

In her free time, she serves as an alumni affinity board member for her alma mater, Harvard-Westlake, loves spending time with family and friends, and enjoys binge-watching Korean dramas.
