The history of hate against Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities is not new. As we see persistently, the history of hatred is easily fueled to a new level of public violence by recent political antics.
AIGA LA stands with the AAPI community and wants to offer an open and authentic space to hear how you are all doing, share resources and learn from one another as community mutual aid.
Showing Up, Together is a series of community conversations inspired by our 2020 Open Listening Sessions (OLS). These are online gatherings that give space to critical, urgent conversations about our design community, community culture, and what a future AIGA LA can be for you. Like the OLS, these sessions intend to be an open forum for you to vocalize ideas, hopes, issues, and realness in a safe space focused on what is urgent right now. We are here to give space to this.
Donations for this event make all of our programming possible so we may in turn fairly compensate our speakers, fund our programs & outreach, and operational costs. AIGA Los Angeles is a nearly entirely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and are thankful for your continued support.
This is a virtual event using Zoom. Once you are registered, an email will be sent at 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 29, with a link to join the online event.
