AIGA Los Angeles has been given the unique opportunity to commission one of our local designers to develop the brand identity for the 2025 AIGA National Conference which will be hosted in Los Angeles.

Portfolio submissions will be accepted between December 9 at 8:00pm to December 17 at 11:59pm PST.

Please review the timeline below and make sure that you are available to complete any design work we may hire you for during the designated time frame.

Note that any proposed designs, samples, or spec work submitted in response to this form will immediately disqualify your application. AIGA Los Angeles does not support unpaid work and would never ask for unique design submissions without providing compensation. At this time, we are only looking to gather an inventory of folks who are interested (individuals, firms, or teams can apply) and to review your existing work and portfolio.

Our selection committee will review applications and accompanying portfolios, and will follow up to communicate whether you’ve been selected to submit a proposal design to be presented to the AIGA National event team.

If selected to propose design direction(s), this will be a paid job.

TIMELINE

PHASE I: Initial Portfolio Gathering

• • December 9 to December 17
  • Portfolio submissions are not paid
  • Spec work will be disqualified
  • Will accept qualifications from individuals, firms, or teams

PHASE II: Review of Submitted Portfolios and Selection(s)

• • December 20 – 21: Notifications of selection / award

PHASE III: Concept Development Period

• • December 23 to January 6
  • Designer(s) will be compensated at a fixed rate for work produced
  • Rate to be determined by number of finalists selected (up to three)

PHASE IV: Concept Development Period

• • January 6 (possible design adjustments may be requested in the following 48 hours)
  • January 9: the local design committee will present final selected concepts to national event committee

PHASE V: Concept Development Period

• • January 14: Winning design direction and finalist will be notified
  • 10 days to prepare final assets

Submit to AIGA National for Launch

• • January 23
