“Is typeface design for me?”The first time you output your font file, install it and start actually typing words, it feels nothing short of exhilarating. But what does it take to get from here to there? This workshop will reveal the demands and rewards of designing your own typeface. Your own tool for giving text a unique form; a tool that others can also use, implicitly carrying your voice in their work.
Using a font editor we will discover what it takes to make not simply a collection of beautiful letters, but a beautiful collection of letters – a harmonious whole that weaves its own texture. The journey is a steep climb, but one that will give you a unique view over the graphic design landscape and make your work more visible to the world.
