ONLINE EVENT
Dear LA Design Community,
We Need Your Voice . . .
Please join us in our November Open Listening Session. This is the second in a series of community focused conversations that give space to critical, urgent topics focused on design community, community culture, and what a future AIGA LA can be. These sessions are intended to be an open forum for you to vocalize ideas, hopes, issues and realness in a safe space. We are highly motivated by the honest thoughts shared in the first listening session and how we can turn these dialogues into action in current and future initiatives, and how we center community in that work.
We want to hear your unique voice along with others from our community who are within and outside of the AIGA LA chapter, with a particular focus on those that have been underrepresented or marginalized.
These conversations are part of a bigger picture in which our chapter has been actively challenging our own history, with the intent of re-emerging as a more relevant, accessible and experimental organization. We want to know, what are your thoughts on AIGA LA and how can we better support you today, and in the future? Let’s talk about the political, racial, and social issues of 2020 and how that has impacted your experience as a creative, as an Angeleno? What is urgent for you in this time? Your voice can activate how we shape our chapter for and with you... and together we can build a future design culture that reflects our diverse, future-forward city while upending hierarchies of race, class, gender, and design culture.
This session will be led by community leader Hector Torres, founder of A Studio Named Desire and Director of AIGA LA Education committee, please join us for AIGA LA’s second listening session on Saturday November 21st at 11AM.
Lets build this inclusive design community together!
