Pablo Ferro, respected film title designer, will receive the LALIFF GABI Lifetime Achievement Award for his accomplishments in the entertainment industry, the 16th Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF).
Pablo Ferro’s creation of title designs for more than 80 film and television shows, during his 40 year career, have made him the ideal recipient for the 2013 Gabi Lifetime Achievement Award. Ferro’s credits included classic films such as Dr. Strangelove and Thomas Crowne Affair to recent work like Beetlejuice, Men in Black and Good Will Hunting.
The GABI Lifetime Achievement Award is named after the celebrated Mexican cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa, who is best known for films such asMacario, Pedro Paramo, and Luis Buñuel’s Simon Del Desierto. Upon receiving the GABI, Ferro will join prestigious past winners, including cinematographer Guillermo Navarro, Pan’s Labyrinth, and writer Pedro Almodovar, Talk to Her.
Pablo Ferro is an AIGA Gold Medal recipient and a graphic design pioneer in the entertainment industry. He will be presented with the Gabi Life Achievement Award at the Los Angeles International Latino film Festival on Thursday October 10 at 7 PM at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood.
