2018 AIGA LA Nominations—Board of Directors

JOIN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

APPLICATIONS/NOMINATIONS ACCEPTED NOW THROUGH WEDNESDAY, MAY 16

We invite you to submit your nominations for the 2018–2020 AIGA Los Angeles Board of Directors! Self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged.

As a board member, you are responsible for serving chapter members, the local design community, and being the best resource for design in Los Angeles. AIGA Los Angeles is looking for leaders and supporters of the design community to help shape the future of the Los Angeles design community. We are strong because of the passion of our board members and volunteers.

SERVING ON THE LOS ANGELES BOARD

Commitment: Board members commit to a two-year agreement to serve the Los Angeles chapter of AIGA. The time, motivation, and dedication shared makes a significant impact on the local community. This is hard work, requiring you to commit to the vision and needs of AIGA Los Angeles while strengthening your network with local designers and AIGA chapters around the nation. Terms will begin June 1, 2018, and end May 30th, 2020.

Responsibility: The board meets monthly to report on and develop chapter activities. While this is a “working board”, we are fiducially and strategically responsible for this 501(c)3 organization. As such, taking on a board role is a serious endeavor, replete with a large degree of responsibility for increasing the wisdom, improving the well-being, developing wonder, and improving the strength of our design community.

It is strongly preferred that candidates for Treasurer have prior experience in accounting or finance.

PROGRAMMING DIRECTORS
Programming Directors oversee the planning and implementation of the annual events calendar, oversee specific in-person events while ensuring production is on-schedule and on-budget, proper speakers are located and booked, and directly manages event volunteers.

• Partner Programming Director oversees in-person events in collaboration with sponsors and partners

ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS
We count on our advisory board members to provide counsel to the executive committee and aid the Board of Directors in executing chapter initiatives, whether it is through volunteering their time, connecting resources to the chapter, or otherwise enabling the chapter’s success.
