Music & Design

Musicians and audiences have always been interested in imagery connected to music. In the 1960s and 1970s, album cover art became an instrumental part of music culture with some album covers becoming highly collectible, from bands like Pink Floyd, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Join us in a discussion with the creative directors of major record labels Warner Bros., Interscope, Capitol, and Hollywood Records/Disney Music Group to examine these defining components of culture, music and design. Combined, these people oversee photography and design for some of the biggest musical artists in the field. We’ll examine how artists work with labels to define their brand, the role designers play in transforming sound into treasured tangibles and see what the future may hold.
