Evenings at the Loft Session: Drones, Robotics and Design

Kluge is hosting their ninth monthly speaking design series session on Friday, August 21st. This month’s theme is on Drones and Robotics.

The speakers are from diverse backgrounds:

Alaric Paiva, is a Mechanical Engineer with a flair for Industrial Design. He develops airframes for UAV’s, with the sole purpose of breaking new ground in design and performance. He is one of the only UAV designers in SoCal who makes all of his own UAV parts from raw materials.

Jason King, is the Co- Founder and Principal Designer of Somewhere Something, working at the intersection of art, architecture, computation, fabrication and education. Integrating emerging technologies with traditional design services.

Jarred Shier, is an Architect and Associate at Gensler In 2013 he launched a research project, to develop an entirely mobile 3D printing platform. He is working on a proof of concept that can generate objects of any size in remote locations. His project has been featured by KCRW, the BBC, Architect Magazine and at SXSW.

They will be serving Southeast Asian cuisine and Lemon coolers and giving away Evenings at the Loft t-shirts with additional giveaways and goodies!
