AIGA LA invites you to participate in open nominations for our 2016 Board of Directors

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, April 29, 2016

The AIGA LA Board of Directors meets monthly to report, determine, and vote on chapter activities. AIGA board members are elected by the entire membership and serve two-year terms.

Open Board Positions

We are accepting nominations for the following positions:

• President
• Vice President/Secretary
• Event Director
• Event Co-Directors
• Membership Director
• Social Media Director
• PR Director

• Interactive Director
• Advisory Board Members

President
Directs all chapter activities, programs and services, and sets the strategic vision and long-term goals of the organization. Presides at all board and business meetings, and acts as the chapter’s primary advocate.

Vice President/Secretary
Assists the President in overseeing chapter activities and helping keep the organization focused on its objectives. Ensures that official board business is conducted efficiently and correctly.

Event Director
Oversees the planning and implementation of the annual events schedule and calendar, directly managing the chapter’s Event Co-Directors.

Event Co-Directors
Oversees the strategy and production of specific events and event series, ensuring their production is on schedule, directly managing the chapter’s Event Production Chairs.

Membership Director
Facilitates membership growth and retention by directing new membership campaigns, supporting active and prospective members, and actively recruiting new members.

Social Media Director
Ensures all social media channels of the chapter are regularly updated with appropriate content, directly managing our team of social media volunteers.

PR Director
Builds, maintains and manages the reputation of the chapter, securing media partnerships and overseeing third-party promotion of events and programs.

Content Director
Oversees the development of unique written and digital content for the chapter, directing a team of content development volunteers to develop the chapter’s voice, and ensuring our events and initiatives are successfully communicated to our members and the public at large.

Engagement Director
Actively seeks out and develops new relationships for the chapter, communicating our value to, and gathering feedback from both individuals and organizations in the LA creative community.

Interactive Director
Ensures our digital channels are up to code, oversees the design and smooth operation of the chapter website, including a pending website redesign.

Advisory Board Members
Provide counsel to the executive committee and aid the Board of Directors in executing chapter initiatives. It is preferred but not required that advisory board members have prior experience volunteering for AIGA.

All submissions will be presented to the 2016 Nominating Committee, consisting of the current chapter President, a past President, two current Board Members, one Advisory Board Member, and two Members-at-Large. The Nominating Committee will meet and determine a recommended slate for open board positions to present to the membership-at-large.

Nominees need not be an AIGA member at the time of nomination, but will be required to join AIGA at the Supporter level ($150) if elected to a board position.

Self-nominations are welcomed, and encouraged.

How to Submit a Nomination

To nominate yourself or someone else, please prepare a PDF document with the following information, and email it to nominations@aigalosangeles.org.

• Nominee’s name and nominated position
• A resumé or CV highlights and brief bio
• A short statement (200 words max) describing why he/she would make a valuable board member
• Two references we may contact for more information
• Letter of recommendations are welcome and encouraged
