2015 AIGA Los Angeles Board Nominations

AIGA Los Angeles invites you to participate in open nominations for the 2015 Board of Directors.

Nominations must be submitted by Wednesday, April 29, 2015.

All submissions will be presented to the 2015 Nominating Committee, which consists of the current chapter President, a previous President, three current Board Members, one Advisory Board Member, and one Member-at-Large. The Nominating Committee will meet and determine a recommended slate for open board positions to present to the membership-at-large.

Once a nomination has been submitted, the nominee will be contacted for more information.

 

Open Board Positions

Each Board member is elected to serve and represent the entire membership of the AIGA Los Angeles to the best of his/her ability, in accordance with the AIGA mission and the description of the board position.

The Board of Directors meets monthly to report, determine, and vote on Chapter activities. AIGA board members are elected by the entire membership and serve two-year terms.

We are accepting nominations for the following positions:

  • Event Programming Co-Director
  • Development Director
  • Membership Co-Director
  • Production Co-Director
  • Communications Co-Director
  • Media Director
  • PR Director
  • Interactive Director
  • Advisory Board Members

 

Event Programming Co-Director
Oversees the planning and implementation of the annual program schedule and calendar, which reflects activities consistent with the chapter’s mission and meets the needs of its members.

Development Director
Facilitates opportunities for outside organizations to participate in and financially support chapter programming and activities, supporting current sponsors and seeking out new ones.

Membership Co-Director
Facilitates membership growth and retention by directing new membership campaigns, supporting active and prospective members, and actively recruiting new members.

Production Co-Director
Oversees the execution of chapter events and the experiential aspects of programming such as logistics planning and implementation via our event chairs and volunteers.

Communications Co-Director
Responsible for the public image of the chapter through its collateral, website, newsletter, press releases and additional marketing and communication efforts.

Media Director
Oversees visual content, and ensures that the experience of chapter events and programs are captured through various media (video, photo, livestream), as well as overseeing the production of chapter promotional videos.

PR Director
Oversees written content, ensuring we are updating our websites and social media channels with with information on chapter events, articles, interviews, and appropriate industry news and articles.

Interactive Director
Ensures our digital channels are up to code, overseeing the design and smooth operation of the chapter website, social media accounts, email system, and internal cloud-based software solutions.

Advisory Board Members (2–3 seats)
Aid the Board of Directors in executing chapter initiatives, provide counsel to the executive committee or lead special initiatives. It is preferred but not required that advisory board members have prior experience volunteering for AIGA.

The nominee need not be a current member at the time of nomination, but will be required to join AIGA at the Supporter level ($150) if elected to a board position. Self-nominations are welcomed, and encouraged.

 

How to Submit a Nomination

To nominate yourself or someone else, please prepare a PDF document with the following information, and email it to nominations@aigalosangeles.org.

  • Person’s name and nominated position
  • A resumé or CV highlights and brief bio
  • A short statement (200 words max) describing why this person would make a valuable board member.
  • Two references we may contact for more information

 

All nominations are due by Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
